Group session can be a cost effective way to maintain motivation and access ongoing supervised program progression. Some patients may be eligible for a limited number of group session under Medicare while most private health funds rebate for this service. All sessions are fully supervised so allowances can be made for each individual’s specific limitations. Exercise is undertaken in a group environment, however all patients complete their own individual program. These sessions are conducted from our Preston location at a range of times through out each day.
These sessions utilise a variety of exercise equipment all designed to improve:
- functional capacity
- aerobic fitness
- body composition (BMD, lean muscle mass, fat mass)
- general health
- balance
- quality of life
Equipment utilised during these sessions include:
- cardiovascular fitness modalities (walking, cycling, rowing, X-trainer, arm ergo)
- resistance machines and free weights
- ROM and stretching (mats, rollers, therabands)
- core strength and balance (fitballs, swivel discs)
- postural control and correction
